Red Tide levels declining on Sanibel

The latest Red Tide Status Update from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission shows that while red tide is still present in the waters off Sanibel, the number of samples testing with high or medium levels has declined by greater than 25% over the last week.  This is the largest weekly decline in red tide levels for any county on the Gulf Coast of Florida.  We look forward to seeing this trend continue until our waters are clear and blue again!  At Sleect Vacatnio Properties we encourage you to be proactive in helping us maintain our water quality.  So volunteer if you can, contact your representatives and insists on positive environmental policies that promote clean waterways, and donate to organizations like Captains for Clean Water or Calusa Waterkeeper.  Visit the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission or Mote Marine Laboratories for more red tide updates.
