You arrived when this complex first opened subjecting you to more than what current guests are experiencing and those who will arrive beyond this date. This is also why we honored rates given in 2022. We made the decision to honor rates as a way to be sensitive to current island conditions. Though with that said, we acknowledge and apologize for the inconvenience you experienced. Jerry's grocery store is open, along with a number of restaurants and some shops. The Chamber of Commerce has a Wander App providing up-to-date information on every business that is open, along with their hours of operation. In some cases, prescriptions can be delivered directly to guest at the property or picked up at Publix just before the island. The increase you mentioned is comparing rates given in 2022 to projected rates in 2025, post renovations. In addition, expenses to own on Sanibel have significantly increased. Anytime this happens the cost will be shared among all who enjoy the property. This owner did a phenomenal job revamping the interior. He did this with diligence and care. His goal... to accommodate current travelers' expectations. We're excited for future guests who will be able to enjoy this stunning condo that offers breathtaking beach front views. It's important to note that projected rates are still less than some surrounding areas that offer less amenities. Most do not offer the old Island charm Sanibel is known for... no high-rises or streetlights, just a slow pace to relax and enjoy nature. Thank you again for expressing your experience. We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed your time. Please know the owners considered your recommendation, however at this time they will keep the den set up as is. This Summer they are replacing the flooring throughout, putting in new counter tops, shower tile, faucets and 5" baseboards.
