Nice place, lots of bug bites & seaweed

"Beautiful, nicely appointed place! Unfortunately, biting gnat-sized insects (legs got chewed up) & a lot more seaweed at the beach than in the past made this one of our less pleasant stays at Sanibel. Many places still closed after the hurricane (DQ, various shops), but "The Shack" for ice cream is still excellent.

The no-see-ums can definitely be a nuisance for some visitors, especially depending on the time of day and individual sensitivity. We always recommend using a strong repellent, especially at dawn and dusk, as they tend to be most active then. The seaweed you noticed was likely harmless manatee grass, which occasionally washes ashore depending on the tides and weather patterns. While not always present, it’s a natural part of our beautiful Gulf ecosystem. Sanibel continues to recover steadily, and we’re thrilled that so many beloved shops and restaurants have reopened in the past three years. The island is definitely regaining its charm and we’re glad you discovered The Shack, which is always a favorite! We truly hope to welcome you back again for a more relaxing stay, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions before your next visit. "This is the third time we've stayed in this unit and once again it was a fantastic experience. Everything was clean and well kept with the unit itself. But we were very surprised the complex has been able to bounce back so quickly. The grounds and pool were in great shape.

Beautiful condo and location!

"The condo was nicely furnished and was very clean and felt like home. Lots of nice touches throughout. The location to the beach was perfect. The lighting in the parking lot and on the building numbers could be a little brighter. It was somewhat difficult as we didn’t arrive the first night until well after dark. Overall it was a “10” rating!!

"This location was a dream for a sheller, It was totally a safe location to go enjoy the beach for selling early in the morning or a night stroll. the decorations and set up of the condo was beyond what I thought. no disappointments at all. Will be there again and again, i have followed this little island since IAN and at times I would cry because my heart hurt for them but I knew I wanted to pay back to help that little island and to stay and I wansnt disapointed at all!! I found a big horse conch and named her Sanibel.
