Outstanding Pine Cove Condo

"Pine Cove is my go to property on Sanibel. They are one of the few on West Gulf that are fully operational. This does not detract from the experience in any way.Their landscaping is impressive having undergone the devastation of Ian. I have stayed in this same unit in the past but it has undergone a complete renovation after the hurricane. Everything about the condo is top notch. The on site staff were outstanding to deal with. Patience at Select Vacations was also very helpful. If you want to visit Sanibel Unit 101 at Pine Cove will not disappoint.

"The condo is spacious and everything in it is new. The beds are very comfortable and the linens are wonderful. Having 2 bedrooms with king beds was a huge plus for us. I would rent this condo again, but there are 2 reasons I didn’t give it a 5 star review. The complex is located next to one of the major public beach access points. So the beach is very crowded in front of the condos.
The second reason is there were almost no staples. For a two week stay, we were provided 1 small box of Kleenex, 4 rolls of toilet paper, 1 paper towel, and 5 garbage bags. There was no shampoo, conditioner, spices,napkins,baggies,etc. It cost us a fortune getting everything because there is only one grocery store on the island. All of our previous rentals around the country at this price point have provided all these items.

Regarding the pantry items, we understand how helpful it can be to find staples like spices on hand. However, for the health and safety of all our guests and in compliance with local regulations, we are not permitted to leave any open or perishable food items between stays. To help guests settle in comfortably, we do provide a complimentary starter kit that includes essentials like paper products, dish soap, and a few other basics to get you through the first couple of days. This is so you don't have to immediately go out for them. As for beach access, most who stay at Pine Cove do not have this experience. It was Spring Break during your stay which contributed to higher traffic from locals. Thank you again for your stay with us and for your kind words. The owners did a phenomenal job! Pine Cove #101 is one of our favorite condos! --Direct Beach Front, stunning decor, comfortable/high-end furnishings with many client accommodating features and amenities. "Beautifully redone condo after several years of work following hurricane Ian (and others). All new furnishings were sorely needed—condo was looking tired and in need of updating the last few years we stayed here before hurricane. Plus, it’s great to have all the excess “stuff” gone! Kitchen has been furnished with new matching dishes & glasses, etc. and everything you could need. We’ll be back again next year!

"This condo is a WOW in every way. My husband and I just returned from an amazing week stay. I cannot say enough good things. The amazing views as you enter through the front door are just the beginning. The rooms are very spacious and well appointed. Every room has new upscale furniture (both in and outside) and large tvs. We loved the short walk to the heated pool, hot tub and beach!! The owners have thought of everything. (that sectional couch is unreal!) We also enjoyed many great restaurants on the island. Breakfast at Over Easy Cafe is a must. We will be back as soon as possible.

Nice unit for a relaxing vacation

"Long time Sanibel visitor; first time to this unit. The condo itself is beautiful; very spacious (2000 sf), great kitchen layout, very nice bathrooms with large showers. Internet was OK; weak in one of the bedrooms. Mattresses were average, and pretty standard for a rental. The unit has verrry limited views of the water, but the beach is only about 200 feet. The pool is very small and somewhat dated. The unit is next to a large public beach access so it can get a little crowded. Overall, very nice accommodations!

I do want to provide reassurance that this condo is now under new ownership as of July of 2022. The new owner's have replaced all appliances, painted the entire condo, new mattresses and box springs on all 4 beds, replaced all TV's, (nothing smaller than a 50"), new Wifi booster, New Comfortable Furniture throughout, new lighting throughout, organized and replaced kitchen items, new bed linens, bath towels and kitchen towels. New Photos are scheduled to be taken on September 16, 2022. Pine Cove #101 is a spacious condo offering a lot of room. It is located on the first floor up, providing a lush tropical view of the Gulf of Mexico. The association does trim trees once to two times a year. Typically, the public beach access does not influence the beach in front of Pine Cove. I do know we've been a bit busier than normal causing a little more activity on Sanibel and Captiva beaches. Great Condo on Sanibel Island Beach

"we had a great week staying in this condo. it is a great location right on the beach but a very short drive (or walk or bike ride) to restaurants and a few shops. Condo was clean and well-appointed. There is access to a storage closet with tons of beach supplies. Pool and hot tub was never crowded. My only negative comment is the TVs in living room and bedrooms are a little on the small side...but who goes to beach to watch TV.

Pine Cove 101

"Our unit was beautifully furnished and a lovely location. We would definitely consider requesting this unit again. However, there are several issues with the unit that made our stay less than it should have been, and the owner should be made aware, as most of the difficulties were with "advertised" amenities that were not available to us.
1. The right front burner on the stove does not work.
2. with the exception of the living room, none of the other 3 TVs in the bedrooms functioned. I have young adult daughters/son in law who are very tech savvy, and we just finally gave up. We all enjoy bedtime TV viewing and could not enjoy that feature. The twin bed room has a "error" message that would not go away, the Master TV just did not work, and the Queen room had to be operated with the buttons on the side of the TV as the remote was non-functional.
3) There were no dish rags, scrubbers, etc for the kitchen, and only 3 dish towels. Not reasonable for a party of 5, and the paying guests should not have to buy supplies in order to clean the kitchen after meals.
4) Laundry room door does not close to cut down on the noise
5)Garbage disposal has loose blades and rattles. Not that is doesn't work, just wanted you to be aware.
5)CLOTHES DRYER IS USELESS. WE SPENT OUR ENTIRE VACATION TAKING TURNS WALKING BACK FROM THE BEACH TO RESTART THE DRYER, AS A SIMPLE LOAD OF LIGHT LAUNDRY NEEDED 3 TO 4 HOURS OF REPEAT CYCLES TO DRY. UNACCEPTABLE TO ADVERTISE LAUNDRY FACILITIES AND HAVE A DRYER THAT NEEDED 7 OR 8 CYCLES TO DRY A LOAD OF CLOTHES. and yes, we emptied the lint trap every load.
As you can see, so many of the advertised amenities were a "no go", which seems a bit deceptive in the description of the property.
Again, we loved the floor plan and layout of the unit, but would not rent again without assurances that these issues had been addressed and resolved.

"It was wonderful! The condo is spacious and child-friendly. The kitchen is well-equipped and easy to navigate. I like that fact that the condo is tucked back in the corner where we can enjoy a view of the landscaping, pool and a glimpse of the ocean. We like Pine Cove because it is small and intimate and we have the opportunity to renew old friendships with people that are usually there the same time as we are.

"This condo was perfect for our family. Two grandparents, two parents, and two boys ages 4 and 1. It is very beautiful, clean, and a great location. The dryer wasn’t working our first day there and we needed it for wet swim suits. The maintenance man came the next morning, which was a Saturday (wow!).

"The secluded Pine Cove property is a tropical hideaway and so convenient to everything. The units are spacious and the pool and water are literally just steps. Our second stay here and wouldn’t hesitate to call Select Properties and this property again.

"Wonderful property and well-equipped condo. However, the sheets and mattress pads, especially on the king-sized bed, were really worn out and didn’t stay on!
Also there were no kitchen towels at all!
Otherwise quite a nice condo in a pleasantly small complex with a great pool and jacuzzi!

"We had a great stay at Pine Cove 101 with a family with young children. The condo was clean, spacious, and well-maintained. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub, and easy access to the beach. "For our family of five (three boys + two parents), this was perfect. All the rooms are very spacious. We loved having a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. The screened porch is amazing. You can see the Gulf. The two full bathrooms were very nicely appointed. Lots of towels, and all of the dishes and utensils you could need. The pool was nice enough, a great alternative to the beach. The beach is truly a wonderland. If you love running on the beach or just walking, it's one of the best. Shelling here is a whole new experience. We will definitely be going back.

Fabulous Sanibel Beachfront!

"Our second year staying here, after 25+ years visiting Sanibel during March spring break in various other properties. This is the best! This 3-bedroom condo is beautifully furnished and in a fantastic location--just at the end of Tarpon Bay Road and West Gulf Drive. The property was in excellent condition and cleaner and fresher than last year (maybe a new cleaning service??). Nice pool area with plenty of shade for avoiding direct sun. A small property (~20 units), so fairly quiet, except for 1 family with loud and whiny grandkids during the week we stayed (we'll wear earplugs at the pool next year!). Otherwise, a fabulous property--pricy but worth it!

"Loved the condo and the location--condo appears to have been recently painted and updated. Only thing lacking was some quality linens--towels were somewhat ragged and worn and mismatched. We could only find a few washcloths; a nice stack of new white towels that could be easily washed and bleached would be wonderful. Also, the bedding all had a musty smell--airing the mattresses and freshly washed sheets, comforters and mattress pads would be a plus. We loved the location enough, however, to reserve it again for next year.

"The location of this condo is wonderful, close to shopping and restaurants. The view of the ocean from the lania is wonderful. The pool and spa area is like a tropical paradise. The grounds are kept clean and looking beautiful. It is great to have gas grills available for grilling outside.
The management company is helpful and courteous.
The kitchen is very well equipped. The unit is beautifully furnished. We love staying in this complex.

"Only one issue - the dryer did not work all that well - most loads took up to 2 hours to dry. Other than that, everything was absolutely beautiful. The view, the layout, the pool, the beach, the condo were all fantastic. We would definitely go back again.

Pine Cove 101 = Vacation October 2013

"As indicated above, we were very happy with everything, however, there were a couple of things that were a bit of a concern.

1. on or arrival we had no hot water and we were not able to operate any of the TV's. It appears that painters or decorators had turned the water heater off and this was not picked up before our arrival. Also the set up of the TV's and their various remote controllers was faulty and had to be sorted out by the maintenance guy who was called out.

We appreciate that things can go wrong, but both these problems could have been picked up by simple checks before we began our vacation. having said this the problems were sorted out in a few hours on the evening of our arrival.

2. In addition both my wife and myself had falls in the apartment when the tiled floor in the kitchen area became wet when the fridge/freezer started to leak water. We both suffered some bruises, but we could very easily have sustained much more serious injuries.

Apart from these problems we thought the apartment was excellent and we very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely like to book again in the future.

Pine Cove 101

"As always, the staff at Select Vacation Properties provided superior customer service from check-in to check-out! This was our sixth trip to Pine Cove and the property, although getting older, is still maintained in excellent condition. We have stayed on each level of the complex and prefer the second or third floor views, but you cannot go wrong with any of the units. Location is extremely convenient and though located adjacent to public beach access remains very quiet and safe. Thanks again guys, see you next year !
